Hydra Library – Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

  • 1.1. Hydra Library is an online platform that provides a user-generated catalog of publicly accessible metadata.
  • 1.2. By accessing or using Hydra Library, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use.
  • 1.3. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the platform.
  • 1.4. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the Terms, even if you disagree with them.

2. Purpose of the Platform

  • 2.1. Hydra Library allows users to submit and access links to external JSON files ("Sources") containing structured metadata such as titles, identifiers, categories, and descriptive information.
  • 2.2. Hydra Library does not host or store external content. All linked data remains under the control and responsibility of their respective owners.
  • 2.3. Hydra Library is not a file distribution service and does not provide or manage file downloads of any kind.

3. User Responsibility for Submitted Content

  • 3.1. All Sources submitted to Hydra Library are considered user-generated content.
  • 3.2. By submitting a Source, you declare that you have the right to share the URL and that the metadata complies with applicable laws.
  • 3.3. You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and integrity of the metadata you submit.
  • 3.4. Submitting misleading, fraudulent, harmful, or unlawful content is a violation of these Terms and may result in removal of the Source or restrictions to platform access.

4. Intellectual Property

  • 4.1. Hydra Library does not review, host, control, or claim ownership over any external content referenced by user-submitted URLs.
  • 4.2. Users retain responsibility for ensuring that the metadata they submit does not infringe upon the rights of third parties.
  • 4.3. Hydra Library respects intellectual property laws and will remove user-submitted URLs if notified of a valid rights infringement claim.

5. Compliance with Applicable Laws

  • 5.1. Users must comply with all laws and regulations applicable in their location when using Hydra Library.
  • 5.2. The operator of Hydra Library may operate under the laws applicable to their own jurisdiction.
  • 5.3. Users acknowledge that they are individually responsible for verifying and complying with any legal restrictions related to their use of the platform.

6. Automated Validation and Moderation

  • 6.1. Hydra Library uses automated systems to validate and moderate submitted Sources, including checks on URL format, availability, metadata structure, and text analysis.
  • 6.2. Submissions that fail these automated checks may be rejected without manual review.
  • 6.3. Users must not attempt to bypass or interfere with validation systems, security protections, or platform limitations.

7. Privacy and Data Handling

  • 7.1. Hydra Library processes only the minimal information required to operate the platform, such as submitted metadata, hashed IP addresses for security, and basic technical logs.
  • 7.2. Users understand that interactions with external websites linked within Sources are outside the control of Hydra Library.
  • 7.3. Hydra Library does not collect personally identifiable information unless voluntarily provided by the user.

8. Content Removal and Notices

  • 8.1. Hydra Library respects intellectual property rights and will remove a Source if a valid request is submitted by a rights holder.
  • 8.2. Requests must include the specific URL of the Source within Hydra Library and sufficient information to identify the issue.
  • 8.3. Hydra Library may remove or restrict access to any Source at its discretion.

9. Suspension and Termination

  • 9.1. Hydra Library reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the platform for users who violate these Terms or engage in harmful behavior.
  • 9.2. Repeated attempts to bypass validation systems, submit harmful content, or misuse the platform may result in permanent restrictions.

10. Limitation of Liability

  • 10.1. Hydra Library is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • 10.2. The operator of Hydra Library is not responsible for:
  • inaccuracies in metadata
  • interruptions or unavailability of external links
  • loss of data
  • any damages resulting from use of the platform
  • 10.3. Users interact with external websites at their own discretion and risk.

11. Updates to the Terms

  • 11.1. Hydra Library may modify these Terms at any time.
  • 11.2. Substantial changes may be communicated through the platform interface.
  • 11.3. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
